SCRUFFS 2013

0

On Saturday 11th May there’s going to be a great big doggy do on the Torrox-Competa road so why not bring along your pooch and contribute towards it? Yes, it’s SCRUFFS 2013!

This year Action for Animals is teaming up once again with the Pavo Real to organise the annual Scruffs Dog Show. This year’s show will be even bigger and better than last year’s, so put the date in your diary and come along and support us. You don’t even have to bring a dog to join in the fun. We’ll have a tombola, raffle, lucky dip and one or two surprises. If you would like to sponsor a trophy, donate a raffle prize or have a stall on the day please contact Nina on 660586040. More details about Scruffs and a full programme of events will appear in next month’s Grapevine.

In last month’s Grapevine we told you about Sebastian the galgo, a dog who had been living on the streets of Alhama de Granada and who we took to a shelter in La Herradura. We’re extremely pleased to say that Sebastian has been lucky enough to be rehomed by a young couple here in Spain. We would like to thank Karin and Yaiza for taking care of him so well while he waited for his new family.

We have also been trying to find a home for Penny, one of the fifty dogs rescued from Dee’s house back in October. Since the rescue Penny has been fostered here in Competa, but unfortunately nobody came forward to offer her a permanent home. However, we have just been informed that her foster family have decided they would like to keep her, so she will now remain happily in the home she has grown accustomed to over the past five months. Brilliant news!
Karina, a beautiful, sweet-natured dog, currently being fostered in Competa, is still looking for her permanent home. If you can offer her the love she deserves, Action for Animals will, as usual, cover the costs for vaccinations, neutering, microchip and passport. Can you rehome Karina?

We are always looking for foster families to take care of dogs and cats until they can find permanent homes, so if you would like to be part of this rewarding work please contact Nina.

Don’t forget to come and visit us in The Charity Shop on Avenida de la Constitucion 59. We have lots of new stock in every day and if you’re spring cleaning please bring us anything you no longer need. We rely on your continued support. Thank you!
