Peter Campion opened Nerja Sofa’s this month. It is easily found by coming off at the Neja exit of the motorway and continuing towards Nerja. At the first roundabout you comeback on yourself and Nerja Sofa’s is on the right. It is definitely recommended by The Grapevine for great deals on suites.
I spoke to Peter who has finally made the move to Spain after plenty of comings and goings between here and the UK. He owns a sofa wholesale company in the UK specialising in manufacturers’ end of line, bankrupt stock and ex – display suites along with normal running lines. Peter has a number of great business contacts which has resulted in his company being offered first refusal from factories if they have made up the wrong colour, size or have had suites returned from retail outlets. Peter buys these suits at a fraction of the normal price. For example a high street value of one of his suites is 2,800 pounds but Peter is selling exactly the same suite for 999 Euros. Peter explained British suites are made to high specifications with regard to quality of foam and fire regulations. He is keen to explain that his company policy is quality with high volume and low profits. He is not spending on his premises to give a pretty showroom; it is no frills just good quality sofas at low prices.
I had a good look around the showroom and was impressed particularly with a brown leather suite ( 3 seater sofa + 2 chairs and a stool) This was being sold in Harvey’s in the UK at 3,050 pounds and Peter is selling the exact same suit at Nerja Sofa’s for 1,499 Euros. I am definitely taking my husband back to see it!!
Once the sofa business is up and running and another level is installed in the showroom for more stock, Peter will expand to other stock. One item he mentioned is a mattress with memory foam which moulds to the body and is excellent for arthritis. These mattresses also come vacuumed packed so you can buy one and put it into your car without the problem of a delivery service. It also has a removable washable cover, another excellent idea.
So, if you need a new sofa this is definitely the place to go, just remember one of the brown leather ones is mine!
