Dave and Kerry are keen scuba divers. They had heard of Canillas de Aceituno through a friend who lives on the campo. In March they came over on a short diving trip and fell in love with the village. When they discovered Brensons was on the market they soon became enthralled by the idea of starting a new life in Spain.

To the surprise, admiration and downright envy of family, friends and colleagues, Dave and Kerry made a firm decision, put their homes up for sale, handed in their notices at work and began to arrange their move to Andalucia.

Thankfully lots of things fell into place and the move happened in a relatively short period of time, arriving in Canillas at the beginning of July.

Brenson Bistro is the first contemporary restaurant in the area. The cuisine is influenced by the international experience gained by Head Chef Brendan Andrews who has worked in numerous countries across Europe and America, producing excellence in a variety of well known and exclusive establishments.

Dave and Kerry took over the business on 1st August and have set about welcoming regular and new customers who continue to enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

Brensons offers lighter bites and a full a la carte menu, 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays). The menu includes favourites such as seafood pancakes, garlic mushrooms and blue cheese, oriental duck stir fry, fillet of beef stroganoff and pork tenderloin with raisons soaked in muscatel. We also offer a range of delicious home made desserts to choose from.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays a three course specials menu is available at €12.95 per person.

On Sundays a 3 course traditional roast dinner is now available from 2.00pm, please book early to avoid disappointment.

On Fridays there is a Book Swap club in the Bistro which is open from 10.00am for breakfast and home made cakes.

Also look out for the theme nights on the last Thursday of every month, where there is speciality cuisine and entertainment for €15.95pp. November 29th there are traditional English favourites and a music quiz. Our first theme night was a great success, the Bistro was full, so please book in advance.

The Bistro can accommodate large groups and special events included fixed price menus, please call for details.
