Bistro 6 in Competa has now been open over 15 months. I interviewed Gilly and Gary when they first opened. However, owning her own business was very new to Gilly so I thought it would be good to have a chat with her to see how things were going after their first year.
There is no doubt that Bistro 6 has been a success. Living in Competa myself and having visited the restaurant numerous times I can talk from personal experience too. The food, ambiance and hospitality have always been fantastic. Gilly explained she does pride herself on ensuring the customers enjoy their experience at Bistro 6. As they are only a small restaurant with the two of them, she really does encourage you to book prior to eating. This will ensure they can provide the quality of food and service which is extremely important to them both and they understand that this is what brings their customers back time and time again.
For the hotter weather they are introducing a new summer menu to include smaller dishes, light bites and plates to share, along with keeping some old favourites from the winter menu. Gilly was also keen to add that they are happy to cater for all sorts of different diets such as Vegan and Vegetarian. In order to accommodate for this just pop by and have a chat with Gilly in advance of your booking. Along with special diets they have hosted many a party and successful birthday celebration. They have a good customer base that keeps returning time and time again. Gilly wanted to specifically thank all her customers as she appreciates every one of them and how they have all contributed to the success of Bistro 6.
In addition to their summer menu they will continue with the selection of homemade desserts and of course all their summer dishes will continue to have fresh and quality ingredients. Gilly will be as good at keeping the restaurant cool throughout the summer as she was at keeping it warm throughout the winter. They do have a few outside tables if you want to sit in the sun, but again please book to avoid disappointment. Gilly explained “it's heartbreaking to turn customer's away if they haven't booked as they might not come back and experience what we have here”.
Bistro 6 is now ready for the summer months with its new mouthwatering menu, cocktails and cool dining experience!
