This annual culinary event returns to the capital with an extensive programme of food-related activities and experiences.

Gastrofestival 2014 pays tribute to gastronomy, not only from a culinary point of view, but also from the perspective of other disciplines such as art, film and fashion. For more than two weeks, and coinciding with the international Madrid Fusión summit, over 300 of the city’s establishments will be taking part in this event that sets out to delight the five senses and raise the profile of one of the capital’s foremost tourist attractions, its gastronomy.

This art form is becoming increasingly popular with visitors coming to Madrid, attracted by one of the liveliest and most diverse culinary scenes in the world.

Restaurants, cocktail bars, cookery schools, gourmet shops, clothing and accessories stores, cultural institutions, art galleries and museums are all part of a wide-ranging programme consisting of six broad categories: Sensory Experiences,

Gastroculture, Gourmet Madrid, Gastrofashion, Gastrohealth and Wine Culture, packed with events and activities to suit all tastes and budgets.

tPast participating restaurants at the Gastrofestival include Cibeles Palace, La Terraza del Casino, Pedro Larumbe, Dassa Bassa, Goya at the Ritz, Ramses, and La Rotonda at the Westin Palace. The festival attracts international chefs, with past participating chefs including Wojciech Modest Amaro, Lorenzo Cogo, Simon Rogan, and Jorge Rausch.

Tasting menus at the Gastrofestival cost about €25, €40, and €75 per person depending on the restaurant selected. After filling up on culinary genius, sample fresh concoctions at the cocktail bars nearby in Madrid.
