La Boutique will be celebrating their third Christmas this year. The Grapevine spoke to Lisa about the changes since they first opened. Although the major change for Lisa herself is she and her husband Jose who own the boutique, amongst other enterprises, have a beautiful baby boy called Jose. Lisa took maternity leave earlier on in the year to spend time at home with her new baby. However, she is now back to work and has made some great changes and investment in time for the Christmas period. La Boutique opened as a 3 floor department store but now they boast a further floor in the basement dedicated to bedding, where there is a showroom of mattresses, beds and of course bedding. Above this floor is the original baby section along with a more recent addition of Lingerie, a bathroom accessories area and travel section as before. The Kitchen floor is next which also now includes white goods, electrical items and a small garden section can be found at the back. The first floor or street level entrance is giftware and home ware and as a recent edition now stocks shoes and boots along with a selection of complementary items. Theses accessories have increased in their range for the winter and Christmas period, now not only stocking bags but scarf’s and cardigans too. The toy brochure will be out around the 2nd week of November which you can pick up from the store, take home and choose the gifts at your leisure or indeed let the kids choose!! You can fill out the order form, leave with La boutique and they will make sure the items are in store ready for you to pick up well in time for Christmas Day. Many Items are already in store and can been seen on the floor above street level just ask to go and have a look. Big this year is FROZEN and Minions and La Boutique are going big on this too! La Boutique aren’t just preparing for the kids but the adults too. There will be many more items in store in the next few weeks such as mugs, tea towels with special messages on them in both English and Spanish and also the popular loose teas and tea sets are back. Lisa says there is a fabulous range of cards and extra special gorgeous gift wrap along with diaries, notepads and perpetual birthday calendars coming soon. There will be a beautiful selection of Christmas decorations, fairy lights, artificial trees and fantastic quality crackers which mean la Boutique will everything for the festive season. Lisa was keen to explain that although she has focused the store on stocking good quality items with well known brands such as Kenwood, Braun, Kicthenaid, Bodum and Smeg there will also be a range of quality stocking fillers starting from a 1euro too. She believes the emphasis on stocking UK brands is what makes them different. They can now buy these products in Spain with a Spanish plug and guarantee so there inst a need for the expats to shop on line to the UK and receive the items with a different plug and no come back. Two of the most popular items bought in the kitchen section are egg poachers and slow cookers something which would have been hard to get hold of in Spain only a few years ago! La Boutique has definitely changed over the last few years so if you haven’t wandered around all the floors for a while, now is definitely the time to visit again, especially as you start to think about your Christmas purchases!
