March 8th this year was international women’s day. It was celebrated by the Ayuntamiento in Cómpeta, who sponsored an evening of Style Fashion and Colour presented by Irene Lyons, with the assistance of Rocio the hairdresser and two volunteer models Marlene and Mariloe, Clothes and jewellery were provided by La Posada.
The evening commenced with coffee and cakes provided by the Ayuntamiento followed by the introduction of the models in everyday wear. Irene then proceeded to cross match them to colour swatches to establish which would be the most suitable colours of garments to complement their skin tone. The models were then dispatched with the hairdresser to an adjoining room for a face, hair and clothes makeover.
Whilst the models were being pampered, each lady was presented with a folder created by Irene, indicating the various hairstyles to suit the face shapes and guidelines on makeup. Then most importantly highlighting which type of garment best suited each figure shape.
The ladies then enjoyed themselves taking turns in front of the mirror establishing the colours which best suited to them.
At which point the models returned in all their glory for the assembled company to witness the total transformation between before and after. The clothes were part of the Spring collection from La Posada with Olga on hand to field any questions.
The evening was very well attended. This was borne out by Irene’s return home with only one Style and Image folder remaining from the 64 she had provided. Irene wishes to thank the two models, Rex Olga from La Pasada, Emer from the Bazaar, Rocio from Salon de Peluqueria Y Estetica c/Horno No. 20b, and the Ayuntamiento staff for their assistance.
