Horseshoe Ranch in Alcaucin is owned by Charlotte. She came to Spain 6 years ago with her family. Her parents wanted to retire in the area and Charlotte having done extensive travelling after leaving college joined her parents to experience life in Spain. After 2 years she was determined to settle and do something she always wanted to do – work with horses.
Charlotte has ridden since she was four years of age as well as performing in various shows in England and later studying horse care, training and teaching at college.
Horseshoe ranch is a riding and trekking centre. You can learn to ride with regular classes or go out on one of their treks. You can enjoy the stunning views of the National park around lake Vinuela on horseback or ride through the small white villages and breath taking countryside. One customer commented “trekking into the national park with Charlotte was one of the best rides I had ever been on”. If you want to see the country side but don’t want to ride a horse you can also take out a pony and trap. Private tuition is available for beginners to advanced riders and they can also cater for riders with disabilities.
The Horseshoe ranch has become quite a hit with the children not only with lessons on the pony but also Charlotte runs a pony club once a week where kids can learn horse care and this is proving to be extremely successful. Horseshoe ranch is fully insured and all hats are provided and Charlotte has also invested in the latest tack to ensure your comfort whilst riding.
For those of you who own their own horse the centre is also a distributor of Dodson and Horrell feed and supplements and Golden Grass and there is also a tack shop for everyday essentials for you and your horse.
Over the winter Charlotte is offering some excellent deals on lessons and trekking. One example is buy 1 hour get second one free. Call for more details on their winter specials and Christmas gift vouchers or meet her in person at Chiringuito Antonio’s on Tuesday’s market in Puente Don Manuel.
