It most definitely is, although this time it is here in Cómpeta! This year has marked a before and after in the life of our local football club and our five teams now form part of the official Andalucian Football Federation!
Since the start of the season football has taken on a whole new meaning here in village! The teams live, breathe and dream about football and it’s starting to show! The Veteran’s team are top of the league, the two youngest teams are in the top half of the league and climbing every week and the final two teams have had a good few wins to their names!
Every fortnight we play at home and there is a lovely atmosphere with locals of all ages coming up to the football pitch to support the club! Food is quite often served at the kiosk and hot and cold drinks are always available.
The club asks for a 2€ donation as an entrance fee, however that includes a soft drink or beer for you to enjoy whilst watching the matches!
This spring Competa FC has decided to organize a fantastic fun day at the Hotel Balcón de Cómpeta on 29th March! There will be live music, flamenco dancing, Zumba, Paella, and a myriad of crazy games for all the family!
The kids have asked if we can put the coaches in the stocks and make them pay for all those laps of the pitch that they’ve had to do….and who are we to say no!?! Penalty shoot-outs, face-painting, a tombola and some big prizes on the raffle are just a few more reasons to come and join us!
Together we can make Cómpeta FC great and add yet another thing to the list of reasons that we all love living here so much!
