Anyone for tea? —– and I don’t just mean a cup of tea but a wonderful English Afternoon Tea offering a selection of sandwiches, scones jam and cream, delicious home-made cakes together with tea, coffee and a glass of cava. All this for only 8 euros in aid of two worthwhile charities;- MacMillan Cancer Support and Cudeca Cancer Care. The date is Friday, 27th September, 2013 at 3pm at a friend’s villa in the Cruz de Zarja area of Competa.
Twenty two years ago, MacMillan Cancer Support UK held their first World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to assist with their much needed fund raising activities. Their first year attracted 2,600 registered coffee mornings and in 2012, 115,000 separate events took place, raising £15 million. Macmillan actively encourage corporate companies, clubs, groups, schools and societies to hold a coffee morning and last year, I held one here in Competa. I am still using the same worldwide date this year but doing something different an “Afternoon Tea.”
Due to using a private villa this year, numbers are limited and I therefore ask that you purchase your tickets in advance from Sugar & Spice or TodoPapel, Competa. Sorry, but there are no ticket purchases at the event on the day. Tickets are still available so hurry and purchase so you can come along and join a fun afternoon on 27th September. All funds raised will be split 50/50 between MacMillan Cancer Support UK and Cudeca Cancer Care.
