An Interview with Luis Ruiz Ortega who has had a construction business in Competa for over 30 years and has now opened an Estate Agents at the bottom of the Village of Competa opposite Tejauto garage. Una entrevista con Luis Ruiz Ortega que ha tenido un negocio de construcción en Competa desde hace más de 30 años y ahora ha abierto una agencia inmobiliaria en la parte inferior del pueblo de Cómpeta enfrente del garaje Tejauto. Ha vivido en Competa toda su vida? Nací en Cómpeta, pero a los 5 años me mudé a la Palma de Mallorca, pero a los 8 años volví a mí pueblo natal de Cómpeta. Have you lived in Competa all your life? I was born in Cómpeta, but moved to Majorca when I was 5 and at 8 years old came back to my birthplace Cómpeta. ¿Qué te gusta de Cómpeta? Me encanta la gente, la tranquilidad, el turismo que ofrece este precioso pueblo, y seguro que no soy el único en decir que Cómpeta y su gente son maravillosos. What do you love about Competa? I love the people, the tranquillity, the tourism this great village has to offer, and I am sure I am not the first in saying that Cómpeta and its people are marvellous. ¿Cuánto tiempo ha tenido su propio negocio en competa? Llevo unos 30 años con mi propio negocio. ¿qué cambios ha habido desde que abrió por primera vez? Ha habido muchos cambios durante los últimos años, pero el que destaca más para mí personalmente, es la demanda de construir nuevas viviendas, por ejemplo, antes podríamos construir uno al mes, pero ya no hay esa demanda. How long have you had your own business In Competa and what changes have there been in Competa since you first opened? I have had my own business around 30 years. There have been lots of changes in the past few years, but personally the one that stands out, is the demand for new builds, for example, we could be building at least one a month but now there is not that kind of demand. He abierto la Inmobiliaria para abrir nuevas puertas, una nueva experiencia y por supesto ofrecerles el mejor servicio a mis clientes fieles y los nuevos que están por venir. You own a construction company so why did you open an Estate Agents? I have opened the new Real Estate to open new doors, a new experience, and of course to offer my existing and new clients the best service. Crees que el sector inmobiliario está mejorando? Sí, creo que poco a poco se ve que en este sector las cosas van mejorando. Do you think the property market is improving? Yes, step by step I think things in this sector are improving. ¿Qué cree que puede ofrecer diferente a otros agentes inmobiliarios? Ofrecemos un servicio fresco, cómodo y con mucha amabilidad para ofrecerle a nuestros clientes lo mejor. También en la oficina ofrecemos una gran cantidad de servicios relacionados con la construcción, fontanería, trabajos eléctricos, aire acondicionados, renovación y construcción de piscinas, pero esto es solo un poco de lo que nuestro equipo con experiencia es capaz. What do you think you can offer different to other estate agents? We offer a fresh, comfortable and friendly service so that we can offer our clients only the best. In the office we also offer lots of services regarding construction, plumbing, electrical work, air conditioning, renovation and construction of swimming pools, but this is just small example of what our experienced team are capable of. ¿Tiene algún plan de futuro para otras empresas en Cómpeta? Sí, tengo algún que otro plan para el futuro para empresas en Cómpetra, pero por ahora eso es todo lo que voy a decir. Do you have any future plans for another business in Competa? Yes, I do have plans for future business in Cómpeta but for now that’s all I will say! Haces todo el trabajo usted mismo? ¿Tienes otros empleados? Hago muchos de los trabajos yo mismo, pero cuento con un equipo maravilloso con mucha experiencia. Do you do all the work yourself? Do you have other employees? I do a lot of work myself, but I also count on a great team of workers with lots of experience. ¿Dónde te ves en 10 años? Espero poder seguir en mi pueblo, Cómpeta, seguir trabajando y seguir dándole el mejor servicio que puedo a mis clientes existentes y a los que tendré en el futuro. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? I hope to continue in my village, Cómpeta, carry on working and giving the best service I can to my existing and future clients. ¿Qué hace usted para divertirse? Me gusta pasar tiempo con mi familia, cuando mi trabajo lo permite, disfrutar de los amigos, ir al gimnasio y al spa. What do you do for fun? I like spending time with my family, when work lets me, enjoy time with my friends, going to the gym and the spa.
