This month I spoke with Andalucía Vastgoed/ Real Estate as they come up to their 15year anniversary. The team consists of Patricia and Geert the owners of the business and Arne and Daphne who they have taken on more recently. They are based in Frigiliana but cover all of Axarquía giving options of coastal and rural living for their buyers.
Their business model works perfectly as Patricia and the team find clients a property to buy and then they ask Geert renovate the property to make it their dream home. Last year was their most productive year with regard to renovations of their client’s properties.
Geert projects manages the work involving both an Architect and a Constructor from Velez Malaga.
They are able to renovate properties within the original footprint with ease and in a few cases, they have remodelled total houses without the clients being in Spain. One particular customer bought a house through them in Sayalonga, gave Geert the keys and said remodel it and we will see it again when it is finished! They didn’t choose anything before they left Spain and all communication and decisions were made by email. When the clients returned, they walked through the door and cried with pleasure and happiness. Geert and Patricia took the stress away from them and created the customers vision of their home in Spain.
Often clients will view properties initially with Arne or Daphne. Then on the second viewing Geert and Patricia, who is architect, will go back to the client’s favourite properties and discuss what can be done to make their dream home in the sun happen and give on the spot quotations and ideas. Often clients like a location of a house but not the property itself. Patricia and Geert can see the potential in a house and provide options and possibilities.
Patricia talked about the type of buyers they have and what type of properties they are looking for. In recent months the younger buyer is looking for a B & B type property and the older retired generation have much bigger budgets than before looking for a permanent residence. Although she admitted there are clients of all ages looking for all types of different properties.
Geert and Patricia have established a good and honest reputation in the Estate Agency Business and as such they have many referrals and repeat business. Last year they also achieved an Audience Award of best International Broker.
Property Investors are keen to work with Patricia and Geert as they can buy a property and then leave them with a budget for restoration, reform or a makeover and then put the property back on the market in order to make a profit. This partnership works both very well for Andalucía Real Estate and the investor themselves.
It was a pleasure to meet up with Patricia again and with their approach and personality Andalucia Real Estate looks forward too many more successful years.
