In the village of Puente Don Manuel Moreno’s bar restaurant is very popular with the locals and tourists and so I understand is also their barman Oscar!
Oscar is Spanish but speaks perfect English and brings a great personality to the premises. Besides Oscar other reasons why Moreno’s remains so popular is because of its food and regular entertainment. It has recently launched its stunning new menu which includes snacks platters, regular specials and breakfasts. The specials that are already a hit are the Langoustine Prawn salad, Thai chilli with noodles, English pork pie and co slew and pulled pork. If you only want to stop for a coffee why not try one of their delicious cakes with it such us cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, orange rum and raisin cake, carrot cake or the most popular Bake well tart!
Moreno’s is open 7 days a week 10am until late and the kitchen is open 11 until 4pm. They have free tapas with every drink on a Sunday an outside terrace and inside formal and informal dinning.
Moreno’s offers English beers and ciders and German lagers.
Twice monthly there are live music evening with the best local bands with include Zimmerz, Chicago Jim Trio and Rivermen. These nights are excellent fun and often pull a crowd. If music nights aren’t your thing Moreno’s offers many other events and special evenings throughout the month which include quiz nights, disco nights, murder mystery nights, much more. It is also available for private parties, reunions, business meetings and birthdays.
Moreno’s is a stylish environment. The relaxing lounge offers a stylish red and black interior with leather sofas and chairs and wifi is available for customers wishing to use the internet on their own devices. The interior is fully air conditions and there is a friendly atmosphere with friendly staff. They have a Sky Sports surround sound system which shows not only football and rugby but all major sporting events with of course English commentary.
Trip Adviser Review
“Moreno’s is a cafe – bar near to Puente Don Manuel and on the cross road to Periana and Venta Baja. We had a nice lunch with a couple of wines, and had change from 15 euro. Not each – the total for the two of us.
The bar is English owned but the staff are mainly Spanish. Everyone spoke English and the food could be as simple a a tapas to a main meal. Air conditioned and modern. Certainly something to give a try, we will again”
Morenos has been open for 8 years and 3 years ago was taken over by new management but it remains a favourite in the area along with Oscar!
